Sorry for disappearing for so long!

Hi Everyone,

My apologies for not updatting the blog coz as I've mentioned in previous posts before, that I am carving out something really exciting.

In the past I've found NBA and baseball betting systems that can tilt your bet winning percentage all the way to something between 80% - 90%, literally giving you another stream of residual income. What I am currently working on is fine tuning the system which I've applied on Asian Handicap soccer/football betting over the years.

The system's served me these while, there were a lot of up and downs, but thankfully more ups than downs. A few months back I started working on the statistics on the odds given for individual matches, and am really excited about the breakthrough which I've made on it.

Right now, it gives me about 70% net win for every round of bet per match day and it's all getting really exciting. I am planning to give out free tips based on this system as I continue to work on them, and if you'd like to have them at no obligation, then leave a comment on my post with your email address.

Finally, it's great to be back again working on this blog. Just a note, the previous posts titled "Quick Sports Betting Tips" has literally struck jackpot the entire duration when I didn't update the blog. The traffic here's relatively fair , and I certainly hope you guys picked those tips up on the way out and applied to nick some tidy profits over the past few weeks.

Like I've always said, sports betting is the bookie's foolproof way of earning money from the "think-I-know-it-all" sports fans, therefore, it can be hugely rewarding for those who just put in an extra bit of effort like me. Check this out if you don't believe there are guys who's made it from sports betting.

Till the next post, have a safe betting weekend.

Quick Sports Betting Cash Tips #2 - Live Betting

There is actually a pretty risk-free place to make some quick money from sports betting, by saying them I am not drawing you into some scams or buying ridiculous ebooks. Instead, I want to highlight to you the importance of minimizing your betting risk with live-betting.

In my understanding, there're not many bookies out there who offer in-running live bets. The reason why bookies don't offer in-running betting is because this is essentially a second chance for punters to hit safety. I don't know if you've played blackjack at casinos before, but there's an option called insurance that gives you a way out of a bad hand, live betting in sports is exactly the same.

If you took a team that's not doing so well at the early stages, you can actually exit the match with a small loss on the vigourish by counter betting straight away. This is just one of the simplest and most effective way for you to exit a match that you are not 100% sure it's through live betting.

There are actually quick money to be made through live betting, just that you need to know how to play around the rules. I will continue to release some information over the next couple of posts, so just make sure you stay tuned!

Quick Sports Betting Cash Tips#1 - English Premier League

The one strategy which I've been keeping tabs over the last 3 seasons of English Premier League can indeed flip some short term, fast cash in soccer betting.

This strategy is extremely simple, and the application is so foolproof that it takes less than 10 minutes of your time per match day.

Betting on the asian handicap, look out for the 2 to 3 games on live telecast and get ready to put in the wager. There are 3 simple rules to this theory:

Rule #1 - Always take the home team regardless of the handicap
Rule #2 - Stop once you've made your money
Rule #3 - Only bet on matches that happen one after another, not concurrently.

I call this strategy the minimal martingle, which involves some doubling up. If you wanna attempt this I suggest you work out how heavy a stake you want to place before going ahead. BEING GREEDY CAN KILL YOU WITH THIS THEORY! Therefore, always divide out your stakes proportionately instead of being greedy and placing according to how much you want to win.

Usually on Saturdays there are 3 matches one after another, so place 1 unit of wager on the early kick off game, on the home team of course. If you win, stop right there. If you lost, double up on the home team of the next game. YOU SHOULD ONLY BET ON THE LIVE MATCHES.

This tactic demands a lot on your betting discipline, if you don't protect your winnings you can be in for a really unpleasant surprise. I applied this for the past two season and I only lost about 20% of the times, making about 30% - 40% of profits (because it requires doubling up, so when I lost, the amount can be quite staggering).

One fact that may interest you is, the likelihood of the home team in the first live game overcoming the handicap is something between 40% to 50%. Meaning, rougly once in every two games, you'd be able to take your winnings from the very first game of the day's fixture!

Quick Sports Betting Cash

I am actually quite against myself doing this post but I've received some emails from readers asking me for ways to make some fast cash from sport betting. If you have been reading this blog since I started it a couple of days ago, you will know that I am a firm believer of consistent profit than fast cash. However, I suppose since sports betting is an element of gambling, there's no way that I can run away from people asking me for FAST CASH.

Some disclaimers first, while there are some people out there who specializes in guerilla gambling on poker, roulette, blackjack etc, in all my 8 years I still haven't met any profitable sports bettor who can just go in, steal and leave for the whole season. The sports seasons are long and hard, and going in to "steal" the cash and bouncing back between losses usually take a few days and weeks as compared to seconds on the poker table. Thus, when I say "fast cash" I am talking about cashing out probably over a 2 weeks period.

Also, because the method of moving in and out quickly on sports betting differs significantly from my usual tactics, I do not guarantee its effectiveness. Therefore, instead of giving out straight NBA tips for example, I think I will instead modify some of my systems a little bit and publish the conditions to fulfil here.

If it makes sense, then go ahead and apply those strategies. If they don't, don't bet on it. Regardless of my uncertainty, I will still try to derive some of the most appropriate methods possible. Once again, I do not encourage betting with short-term profits in mind, so don't bet your house on it!

Following Up On The Previous Post...

Just to do a little bit of follow-up on the previous post - Caution! Don't Overlook The Handicap/Spread, I forgot to mention about how the switch from the sports fan mentality can accelerate your betting profit.

When I first started betting on sports, I chose to concentrate fully on the Asian Handicap aspect of soccer betting given that I am a huge fan. I lost close to 80% of my bets because I simply got stuck in the cycle of pre-determining results according to my knowledge of the game. Once I made the change in my mentality, I immediately minimized my losses by 20-30%, and of course from there it is easy to start making the jump to profits. However, I think it took me something like 3-4 years to actually put my sports fan mentality behind me because just when you thought you've gotten rid of it, it creeps back into your mind and you don't realize what you've done wrong until the losses stack up again.

In contrast my foray into NBA betting was a much smoother path, particularly because I don't follow the sport very intensively. Therefore, when I first started betting on NBA I discovered that while I don't know as much about the game, I also didn't lose as significantly. Once I manage to keep the percentage of losses low, it's all pretty easy after that because I am already conditioned properly in my mind, and like I've mentioned before from then on you just need to find a few winning systemsto really profit big.

Caution! Don't Overlook The Spread/Handicap

A common mistake many of us made when we first started with sports betting is not knowing how to separate our judgements from the reality of the sports which we bet on.

To go into more details, what I am emphasizing here is that when we follow the sports for awhile, we always have a pre-fixed mentality about teams. For example, as a football/soccer fan I naturally think that Manchester United is a good team that can win matches easily, and that will subconsciously make me want to place my bets on them and the conclusion which I drew about them on their actual performance will justify decisions to give away handicap for their matches. In other words, I am actually judging the bet from a soccer fan's point of view than a sports bettor.

Using Man U as an example, let's take a look at their performances this season on both the handicap front as well as their actual match performances:

Handicap/Point Spread
Games played: 30
Won: 15
Draw: 3
Lost: 12
Winning percentage: 50%

Match Performances This Season
Games played: 30
Won: 22
Draw: 4
Lost: 4
Winning percentage: 73%

Spot the difference yet? This is how handicap changes the whole perspective about a team on the betting front. In fact, Man U currently stands in the top of the table in the English Premier League, but on the handicap front they are only in 7th place.

The point which I am driving at is, if you bet like a fan over time, you will lose a lot of money. I have always told people that don't rely on your knowlege of the game alone and put in some hard work analyzing the odds etc. I concluded that there are basically two reasons why sports bookmakers are making a lot of money, first being that the odds are always in their favour and secondly is because of a lot of ignorant fans out there thinking that they can outsmart the bookies with their knowledge of the game. Trust me, if these people run billion dollar businesses taking your bets, they definitely research and analyze tens and thousands of times more than you to open the market with certain handicaps.

The bottom line is, in order for you to start winning as a sports bettor, stop thinking like a fan first!

A New Profit Generating System (Fingers Crossed)

Hi all!

I am currently testing out one of the new systems which I developed a couple of weeks back, so far the results are pretty encouraging and if everything works according to plan, I think it will be another stream of 40% to 60% of consistent profits!

Do not worry, and certainly don't get too excited yet. I am still fine-tuning and testing the system. Just check out this blog regularly and I will definitely be launching the finalized version here on sportsbetprofit, perhaps even giving out for free to my regular blog readers, so keep visiting and leave me some comments to let me know you better!

Have a winning day ahead!

The Home and Away Factor

For today's post I would like to bring up a point that has been seriously overlooked by most when it comes to the point spread system, or the Asian handicap system as football (soccer)punters know it. If there is one advice which I can give you off the top of my head, it is common sense does prevail in sports betting.

If you have the right resources, try conducting a correlation test on the intensity of crowd support to a team's home and away form. In case you haven't noticed, how near a crowd sits and how fierce the support for either team is for a particular game all contribute to the home and away form of the various sports teams. Therefore, for sports like basketball and football (or soccer), with the crowd being so near the players, the home team with passionate supporters will enjoy the familiar "home ground advantage".

I am going to take professional European football as an example here. If you look at the Italian leagues, where some stadiums fence their fans away from the action, and also due to how big some of those stadiums are (some supporters stand can be really far away from the action), the ratio of the home teams winning are a lot lower than the English league, where the fans sit within close proximity of the players.

Note that there are also instances where intense home support can actually be counter productive of a team's progress on the field. Newcastle United, for example, has one of the fiercest and most loyal group of supporters in the world of football. Their passionate fans hate to lose and as a result, end up expecting too much from their team, directly creating a lot of pressure for the players.

This scenario is the most clearly reflected if the team is either A) a team made up of a couple of new players B) having new players who are from different places with a vastly different sporting culture.

I've actually taken Newcastle as a case study earlier in the season and done a couple of tests with the examination of the team performance and comparing that to the volume of crowd noise, and it's no surprise that the team tends to make mistakes and concede some really soft goals when the crowd starts to voice out their displeasure over a 5 to 10 minutes period.

My point here is simple, sometimes when the concept of winning and losing gets too deep into your head, you tend not to make judgements based on logic and common sense. Besides encouraging you to build up the discipline for a clear mind, I seriously urge you to constantly step back and analyze your betting decisions rationally before putting your money on it.

If you still remember the first 5 to 10 bets you made in your life, you'll realize that the winning percentage of those games was actually higher than what you are achieving now, and all that was accomplished simply with the clarity of mind and some simple common sense. Remember that sometimes you do need to go back to be able to go forward!

Is Your Mentality Right For Winning?

How much does winning mean to you?

From my observation, very very few people are actually confident and sure when they place a bet, but yet at the same time they "hope" and "expect" to make some decent profit from this. Now this truly scares me, how can you expect to profit from something that you are not even positive about?

A couple of days ago, I was catching up with a friend over coffee and he asked me how the hell do I actually do it, making a consistent earning through sports betting to sustain the lifestyle that I choose, because he just lost a neat 4 figures on a pretty disastrous midweek UEFA cup fixture list.

I asked him a few questions and shockingly discovered that while he believes he can win money from sports betting and takes it relatively seriously (buying tips, books etc), he does not believe that you can profit consistently. He believes that LUCK is the biggest deciding factor at all times.

I was really appalled by the statement that he made and therefore it didn't take long for me to understand why it seems so difficult for him to profit. In anything that you do, self-doubt is the one thing that can keep you well away from your desired result. I am sure to many out there, there were times when you initially picked the winning team, only to get influenced by other "experts" just before you placed the bets and decided to change your bet to follow the "experts". You end up following the crowd, and dying with them. How did you feel after knowing that you lost? It's probably the worst feeling in the world because you doubted yourself so much and ended up paying the bookies because of the wrong judgements by someone else.

Ask yourself this, is it possible to win from sports betting? If your answer is positive, is it possible to win over a long period of time (months, and even years)? What's your answer now?

Let me tell you, most people don't believe that it's possible to win over a long period of time because they believe that one day their luck will run out. So, if this is what you really believe in, then why are you still betting? If you know that you will lose over time, then for goodness sake, stop right now!

In my opinion, luck has got nothing to do with betting on sports. It is all about carving out a clear path to your profits by coming up with systems for your success. After which, you simply apply and get there with a positive mind.

When I first started betting, I used to place a bet and immediately start feeling an overwhelming insecurity. I was so unsure and disturbed that I ALWAYS feared for the worst even before the match, and no exaggeration here at all, the worst almost always happened in such scenario.

I am a walking example of you are what you believe, and once I embraced this motto my life changed. I was in debt for about 10months worth of salary at one point but once I made this significant change in my mindset, I crawled all the way back to the top slowly but surely (quitting my job in the midst :) ).

Just like what I told my friend, there is really no secret to winning in sports betting. The formula looks something like this:

Positive mindset (including confidence and responsibility in your choice) + The right system(s) + Good level of discipline = Profits,

My note to you is, the positive mindset is the beginning for everybody who wants to make a difference between profiting and losing. Trust me, once your mindset change, it will lead you to the right system, and a positive mind will help ensure that you build up a good level of discipline.

The above are my personal opinions, I'd love to get some feedbacks, and should you really be interested in changing your mindset for the better, do check back regularly as I am planning to make another post on it soon.

Have a great winning day ahead!

5 Facts About Sports Betting Part 1

I guess there's no better way to kick off this blog than to point out the facts. Some of them cold and harsh, some of them nice and comforting to know. However, just as you seasoned punters think that you already know almost everything there is, you'll be surprised at some of the stuffs that I am going to discuss here.

I've personally kept a log book of my 8 years of betting experience. When I lose I analyze the losing bets - did I give in to the temptation of a high payout? Was it a rash bet (hoho, speaking of the devil)? Or did I simply analyzed everything wrong?

And of course, when I win, I don't just thank the divine intervention, I try to reason out all the bets, so that I can log all my streaks, and understand why it sometimes go up and down.

Just before you start having a go at me in your mind (hey, who's this guy trying to act all-knowing), I just want to clarify that all these are my personal opinions derived out of my own experiences. However, having studied journalism for a year before, I figured that I better back up these first series of sports betting fact with some prominent source.

GQ USA's March 2008 issue did a feature about sports betting. Basically a 17 pointer beginners guide for sports betting. The title is called "The 100% guaranteed, expert-tested can't lose GQ guide to betting on sports". I enjoyed reading that whole feature (go buy a copy if you haven't) and picked out some of the facts which they stated and I can relate to. So here goes:

Facts about sports betting #1

1) THE ODDS ARE AGAINST YOU. I say nothing can be more true than this statement, afterall the bookies are running billion dollar businesses and trust me, they do whatever it takes to win your pitiful pocket money.

2) IT IS POSSIBLE TO BEAT THE BOOKIES OVER TIME. This is my stated fact and you need to start registering this for you to start getting ready for that fact.

3) AT LEAST 50% OF YOUR LOSING BETS WERE PLACED ON IMPULSE, OR IN GENERAL, A LACK OF PREPARATION. Go on, think back and be honest, then tell me this is wrong.

4) BET OVER YOUR LIMIT AND SHIT WILL HAPPEN. You might have won a big jackpot once in a blue moon, but most experienced sports bettors will tell you that luck is definitely not something which you should count on when dabbling with sports betting. Know your limits and keep to them, please!

5) THERE ARE PROFESSIONAL SPORTS BETTORS OUT THERE. Trust me on this, there are! I am a walking testament to this group of people who are usually very underground but I've done my research, met a couple of them online and offline personally and let me tell you there are professionals around. They make up probably less than 5% of all the sports bettors around the world.

Here are the 5 facts for you then, nothing too controversial or exciting at this point but trust me, the good stuffs will come if you continue to come back. I know most of you are probably very curious about the part with professional sports bettors, so that is exactly what my next post is going to be about. Stay tuned and have a great winning day!

Sports Betting Profit - The Introduction

Hi!

It's taken me 8 freaking years to figure out some templates to sports betting success and right now I am just happy that I have been generating enough consistent profits so that I can do what I love (sports betting, duh) for a living.

I started this blog for my visitors to trade ideas as well as share some of my experiences. The vision is really, to hope this blog can generate so much interaction of ideas and winning systems that can help all my visitors conquer the bookies!

I have made the commitment to try to update the blog as frequently as possible, and hopefully what the stuffs that are going to go on here are going to be of use to each and everyone of you in your sports betting adventure!
